PDFmatics processes every file entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly. No file, page, or byte is ever transmitted to a server. This is a technical guarantee enforced by the architecture — not a policy we could override if we wanted to.
Your files never leave your device. All PDF operations — merge, split, compress, encrypt, OCR, convert, redact — run locally in your browser. The output is generated in your browser's memory and downloaded directly to your machine. We have no access to your files at any point.
PDFmatics requires no account, login, or email address. There is no registration flow. We collect no personal information in exchange for using any tool.
We do not run analytics that capture filenames, file contents, file metadata, or anything that identifies what you processed. We may collect aggregate, non-identifying page-view data (e.g. total visits) purely for understanding traffic volume — never tied to a user, session, or document.
The Tip Jar accepts cryptocurrency donations via wallet addresses displayed as QR codes. If you choose to send a tip, that transaction is recorded on the relevant blockchain and is subject to that network's public nature. We receive no personal information from a crypto transaction.
PDFmatics uses browser localStorage only for the Form Auto-Fill tool, which lets you optionally save a reusable profile (name, address, etc.) to speed up form filling. This data never leaves your device. No tracking cookies are set. No third-party cookies are used.
Our hosting provider may log standard server access data (IP address, user agent, timestamp) as part of their infrastructure. This is outside our control and governed by their own privacy policy. No other third-party services are embedded in PDFmatics.
Headers enforce cross-origin isolation, which prevents third-party scripts from accessing your page's memory. This is an additional technical layer of privacy protection.
PDFmatics is a general-purpose document tool with no age-gating. We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date below. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
